José Maya Serrano, is a young flamenco dancer “Bailaor” family descendant of a very important generation of gypsy artists, painters, actors and writers.

Among his lineage are the historic flamenco female dancer Fernanda Romero, and the singer Rafael Romero “El Gallina”. He is also related to the famous painters Antonio Maya and Jerónimo Maya.

Jose Maya began his artistic career at the age of nine. His first appearance was sharing stage with Antonio Canales, Juan Ramirez and Joaquín Grilo at the Teatro Albéniz of Madrid.

At twelve years he run the contest “Bravo Bravísimo”, his first national level winning.
The same year, he plays in the TV show “Gente con Alma” and participate to Antonio “El Bailarín” homage in Tve1.

At only thirteen, yet he became part of the company “El Guito” and Manolete, doing several tours in Spain.

Winner of numerous and prestigious awards such as Copa Pavon, Teatro Albeniz Award, Alicia Alonso Classical Ballet Award, as well as several national network television contest of TVE.

He has performed with the most important flamenco companies, dancers and musicians such as Diego El Cigala or Tomatito, among a long list of artists and celebrities, like Beyonce or Marc Anthony.
Throughout his career Jose Maya has performed in the most prestigious stages and theatres of the world and has toured in countries such as France, Italy, Germany, England, Austria, U.S., Canada, Russia, Japan, China and many other beautiful countries of the globe and front of VIP audience like Caroline and Albert of Monaco.

He is considered an extremely gifted flamenco dancer with a unique and passionate technique that combines vigorous rhythms with exuberant perfection, recognized by media and experts as a genuinely genius-maestro of the art of flamenco.

He is also an extraordinary painter and is preparing a soon premier art exposition.

Jose Maya has choreographed most of his show and is currently working on his new show “Latent”.
